Cellphones, and SmartPhones in particular, along with their cousins WiFi and cordless home phones, are well documented as presenting significant hazards to human health, and as contributing factors to Sick Building Syndrome (also known as Sick House Syndrome). In May 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) categorized cell phone radiation as a "possible carcinogenic hazard." This is a label the WHO also placed on lead, engine exhaust, and chloroform. The WHO issued a further statement that this new warning is "based on an increased risk for glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer, associated with wireless phone use."
